Buy-Side Technology Awards 2013: The Winners

This year's winners are out, with a few new names and some "surprises". Good to see that the number of categories did not increase once again (currently at 28). In case you are interested to compare to previous years, these are the results for 2012 and 2011.

2010 Winners "Buy-Side Technology Awards"

The winner announcements are out. However, none of the awarded products have a significant client base in Germany, except StatPro, Charles River, Algorithmics and SmartStream. BISAM and Cadis are making quite some efforts to enter the market though.

Interestingly, Cadis has won the "Best Overall Buy-Side Product for 2010" award!

TradeTech 2008 Names Charles River Investment Management System “Best Buy-Side OMS” for Second Consecutive Year

Charles River Investment Management System named “Best Buy-Side OMS” for the second consecutive year. This award, presented April 23rd at TradeTech 2008 in Paris, recognizes Charles River as the leading order management system provider for European investment firms in terms of user satisfaction, cost efficiency, reliability and speed.

Interesting: MiSys won the "Technology provider of the year" title. As the press release says, "The judges of the Structured Products award highlighted the flexibility and speed to market of the Misys Summit MUST (Multi-Underlying Structured Trade) solution and focused on the new bonds-trading capability which had been jointly developed by Misys and leading German banking group, KfW."

The selection of most products may have been expected or are at least not surprising, from my point of view. The selection of Advent as the "Best overall buy-side technology vendor 2007" and even more so Advent Geneva as "Best buy-side portfolio accounting platform" is at least surprising to me. Has this been a worldwide selection ?

TELOS zeichnet Helaba Invest mit 1- aus

Wie jedes Jahr bewertet Telos auch dieses Jahr wieder (u.a.) die Master-KAGen, wie auch der FondsCheck berichtet. Und dieses Jahr hat sich die Helaba knapp vor den Vorjahressieger geschoben.

Interessanterweise wird herausgehoben: "Sehr hohe Ansprüche erfülle die Helaba Invest auch bei der "Produktion". Hier seien neben der reibungslosen Integration des Fondsbuchhaltungssystems Xentis auch die hohen Maßstäbe an das Qualitätsmanagement hervorzuheben."

Readers Choice: Best Portfolio Management System

Waters Online has again chosen Charles River Development as the best portfolio management system for the 3rd consecutive year.

TradeTech crowned it as "Best Buy Side Order Management System".

Innovation Awards

Financial-i has identified the winners for 2006 in several categories, defined by an impressive number of analysts and consulters. Amongst the categories is "The most innovative fund administration and accounting solution". The winner is: SunGard, and they are referring to...InvestOne (not V3 or GP3)! You may want to have a look into my other post here (in German), where I have reflected on Sungards strategy in Germany.

Interesting sidemark: The company to watch was identified to be IGEFI. What does its CEO Bertil Rouveure focus on as the differentiation product feature is his note there ? "However, its outstanding feature is the ability to comprehensively service both mutual fund and hedge fund requirements. "
